Winslow Township covers 58 square miles in the Southern most area of Camden County, New Jersey. This once densely populated farming community is seated between Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Atlantic City, New Jersey.
In 1950, Winslow’s population was approximately 5,100 residents. Today, Winslow Township has proven to be one of the fastest growing communities in the area with a population reaching approximately 40,000 residents calling the Township of Winslow home.
In 2011, the Winslow Township Police Department responded to nearly 65,000 calls for service. This is an average of 5,400 calls per month. The Winslow Township Police Department is currently made up of 72 full time sworn Law Enforcement Officers, 11 Tele-communicators and 13 civilian personnel, all under the command of Chief Robert Stimelski.
Under Chief Stimelski’s control, the Winslow Township Police Department has developed numerous different Bureaus to protect and serve the residents of Winslow Township. Just a few of these Bureaus are the Criminal Investigations Unit, Narcotics Unit, Traffic Bureau, Bicycle Patrol and Community Policing.
