Where is the Police Department located?

The police department is conveniently located at 125 S. Rt 73, Braddock NJ. 08037. If you are familiar with Rt. 73, we are at mile marker 10.  We are approximately 8 miles south of Berlin.  The police department is centrally located in the within the township.

How can I contact the police department or obtain a police report?

You can contact the police department 24 hours a day 7 days a week by calling (609) 561-3300.  Of course if you have any type of emergency that threatens life or property Dial 9-1-1 IMMEDIATELY.  If you need to speak to a detective or contact the Criminal Investigations Unit, dial the main number and request ext.1036.

Our police records department is open Monday thru Friday from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. (Closed Holidays)  If you need to obtain a police report the records department can be contacted at (609) 567-2606.

Winslow Township Department of Public Works is operational Monday thru Friday 7:30 .a.m. until 3:30 p.m. and can be called directly at

Does Winslow Township have a Curfew?

Winslow does in fact have a Curfew.  The curfew code 120.1 impart states:      It shall be unlawful for any minor under the age of eighteen (18) years to remain in or upon any public place or establishment after the hour of 10:00 p.m. on each and every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, and after the hour of 11:00 p.m. on each and every Friday and Saturday until 6:00 a.m. of the following morning, unless accompanied by the parent, guardian or other adult person having the care, custody or control of such minor, or unless engages in, or traveling to or from, a business or occupation which the laws of this State authorizes minors to perform.

How can I find out about purchasing a firearm?

  • Permit to Purchase a Handgun.............................$2.00 Cash

  • Application for Firearms ID Card........................$5.00 Cash

  • Permit to Carry a Handgun (See Secretary)

Please provide exact change when paying for ID Cards/permits because the Police Department does not have a cash register.

You must present two forms of identification including a PHOTO ID.  (NJ Drivers License, Social Security Card, Passport etc.) NO CREDIT CARDS.

If you have never applied for a Firearms ID Card or Permit to Purchase a Handgun in New Jersey, then you must be fingerprinted (See Secretary) for application.  there is a fee of $60.25 for this that you will pay to MorphoTrak.

If you are applying for a duplicate Firearms Identification Card or a Permit to Purchase a Handgun and have previously been issued a Firearms Identification Card or Permit to Purchase a handgun by this Police Department or another Police Department in New Jersey then you must submit an $18.00 money order.  The money order must be made out to The Division of State Police -SBI.

On your application for firearms -- do not use relatives as a reference.  (This includes Fiancé, girlfriend/boyfriend, etc)  Use your friends, co-workers, neighbors, etc.

Any Law Enforcement Officer that is applying must use his/her immediate supervisor and the Chief of Police for the town they work in for references.

A mental health release form must accompany every application for Firearms ID Card, Permit to Purchase a Handgun and Change of Address form.

The Application are available online at the New Jersey State Police Website: www.newjerseystatepolice go to the drop down box for services and click on forms to download.  If you are going to complete the application on line for submission you must supply (2) copies of each of the applications for Firearms Purchase Permit/Firearms Identification Card, Consent for Mental Health Records Search.

The only form that is not available on-line is the SBI-21A form that is available only at the Police Department.

Application will be accepted at the Police Department from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday.  the Chief's Secretary is the only person available to take these applications.  you may call (609) 561-3300) to verify the Secretary is in the office and available to take your applications.  (Vacation, sick etc.)

How can I contact animal control or code enforcement?

You can contact our animal control officers by calling the police department directly at (609) 561-3300 and ask to speak with animal control.  You can also email them directly at AnimalControl@winslowpd.com  The animal control officers will be glad to help you with any animal related issues.
