REMINDER - There
have been many car burglaries in our surrounding
jurisdictions. Now is the
time to protect yourself from property theft and becoming a
victim. Thieves
know that they can make a quick entry into an unlocked car
and take loose change, cell phones GPS devices and any other
valuables that are there for their taking. They often
go from car to car looking for that unlocked door to make a
quick entry and make off with items the items that are left
inside. The Winslow Police are reminding our residents to lock your unattended vehicles to
prevent unnecessary thefts. Prevention goes a long

Award Recognition Program and Application --
It is the policy of the
Winslow Township Police Department to recognize extraordinary acts
by both police and civilians during situations which, as which seen
by both the public and law enforcement, require heroic acts of
bravery and courage. The Commendation and Awards program of
the police department is meant to honor those individuals who show
qualities that go above and beyond what would ordinarily be expected
and are valiant in effort to preserve life, liberty and property.

Neighborhood Watch -- is a well organized program
that encourages residents to become more aware of activities
wherever they are, while they go about their normal daily routines.
The primary function of a neighborhood watch program is to act as
the "EYES AND EARS" of the local police.. Participants are
instructed to promptly report any unusual or criminal activity as
soon as possible. We can help you and your neighbors organize a
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH to make your neighborhood a safer place to live. |

Bicycle Registration --
Thousands of stolen bikes are
recovered every day, but only a few are ever returned to there
owners. The National Bike Registry helps authorities identify
your bike and return it to you when it's found. To register, ask
your dealer, go online or fill out and mail the form which you can

Operation
Identification --
is a program in which participants permanently mark their property
as a deterrent to theft. This also aids in the recovery of your
property if it was lost or stolen. We will show you how to
mark your property in a way that a law enforcement agency that
recovers it will know it belongs to you.
We have engraving tools that
we will lend to you so you can mark your property. A form to
list your marked property will be furnished for you to retain in the
event the property is lost or stolen. |

Security Surveys
--
Upon request, we will conduct a comprehensive security survey of
your home or business and point out the weaknesses. We can
recommend ways in which you can better secure your home and
property. |
